More decluttering
Did I get rid of more things from my house? Sure did!
*Snowglobe train set
*Coffee grinder
*Travel toiletry bag
*Decorative item my husband was given from his sister's funeral
*Condiment bottle
*Two shirts
*Baby blanket
*Pet water fountain filters
*Ornament we will never put a photo in
*Random notepads, pen and music CD from VFW
*Attachment to vacuum I no longer have
I clean my mil's apartment every 2-3 weeks. She is a hoarder (which she knows) and also has dementia. A few years ago she moved from a house to an apartment, the majority of her hoard was either disposed of or donated, and now I keep her apartment as free from clutter as possible. It is difficult to keep your thoughts organized if all you see is piles of junk everywhere, so every time I clean I cull her things.
*3 magazines I had left out for her to read for a few weeks
*A trinket box that served no purpose other than to take up space where she needed more.
*A random spoon. She has a tendency to let the dishes pile up in her sink before she washes them. This happens quickly, and includes every disposable plastic item she eats out of: frozen microwavable meal containers, fruit cup containers, mini plastic forks that come with packaged salads, etc. And then you get smells from the sink. I made this problem better by taking away a lot of her silverware. Now she gets a cue when she sees "Oh, I don't have any clean silverware. Better wash the dishes!" This spoon is just one piece of the stash.
Random paper junk from my closet. My closet is where paperwork gets stored. I needed a specific piece of paper from my files, so while I was in there I got rid of papers we don't need anymore, plus a couple empty boxes.
*Found one more Halloween item hiding out in my spare room
*Full/queen size duvet, duvet cover, and pillowcases. We upgraded to a king size duvet so all of the smaller items can go.
Will there be more? Of course there will. Stay tuned for more riveting decluttering content. Ha.
